Why we choose plastic for reusable containers: a look behind the scenes

January is the month of change – and Veganuary offers the perfect opportunity to discover a plant-based diet. Vegan eating is more than a trend: it improves health and protects the environment. This guide shows you how to try vegan step by step, overcome obstacles and integrate plant-based alternatives - whether you want to switch completely or try something new.

Your personal path to vegan transformation

Choosing a vegan diet is an exciting journey and Veganuary is here to support you. Success stories show: 28% of participants remain vegan six months later, and 80% reduce their consumption of animal products by at least half(1). The free Veganuary offers you:

  • A digital celebrity cookbook with inspiring recipes
  • Practical meal plans for everyday life
  • Personal nutrition tips
  • Regular motivation by email

The German Nutrition Society confirms: A plant-based diet protects health and the environment(2). Many experience the changeover as a culinary enrichment with new, exciting taste experiences(1).

The 3-phase method for a successful Veganuary

The 3-phase method is based on the experiences of successful Veganuary participants, 65% of whom report positive health changes(3).

As soon as our containers are no longer usable, they are sorted out and recycled by our dishwashing partner. The resulting granulate is used in new products, allowing us to actively contribute to the circular economy. However, we cannot reuse the recycled material for the production of our own containers, as we follow strict guidelines due to food contact, which unfortunately still prohibit its use at present (2).

By reusing multiple times, we save valuable raw materials and reduce waste at the same time - less disposable packaging means less waste.

The controversy over plastic

The debate about plastics is often controversial, particularly because of the environmental impact of single-use plastics. Single-use plastics and packaging often end up carelessly on the ground and in nature, contributing to pollution. The material from fossil resources releases harmful microplastics that endanger the ecosystem and human health (3).

In contrast, reusable plastics offer a sustainable alternative. The deposit system creates an incentive to return them, which reduces the need for new materials, lowers greenhouse gas emissions and minimizes marine and landfill waste. Thanks to their long service life, they promote responsible use and recycling in line with a cradle-to-cradle approach.

Our promise for the future

Our reusable plastic containers are produced in Germany. This means short logistics routes, fair working conditions and responsible use of resources.
